DAY TRIP TO CAPE COAST
This tour is designed for people in Accra who do not have several days but want to explore around the coast. This tour takes you to Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will learn all about Ghana’s slave history and the Kakum National Park.
This morning, you will be met at your location in Accra where your driver/guide will take you on a 4 hours drive to Cape Coast. You will first visit and tour the U.N. World Heritage Site of Cape Coast Castle, where your castle guide will explain the history of the castle to you. You will see the various cells in which slaves were kept before taken into the ships passing through the ‘Door of No Return.’
After lunch this afternoon, you will drive to Kakum National Park. At the park, you will take an adventure crossing West Africa’s only rainforest canopy walkway with 5 bridges on the walkway. Your park guide will take you on a nature walk through the forest explaining the economic, cultural, and medicinal values of the plants in the forest to you. Depending on the time you have, you will make stops along the way to see other interesting activities. Your guide/driver will say goodbye to you and drop you off at your final destination.
